Sample muxdumps
Added by Adam Sutton over 11 years ago
I'd really appreciate a set of muxdumps from a variety of different setups, both dvb type (inc iptv and atsc) and network setups. The stranger the better. I want to make sure I don't do anything that precludes certain setups and also try to improve network scanning. Samples should be approx 1-2 minutes lonng.
If you're not familiar with getting muxdumps you can get one by selecting the play option in mux config tab (not iptv) and save, cancel after 1-2 min. You must have adapter in raw mux rx (requires restart to change). Please give rough description of your setup and where the dump is from.
Edit: couple of minor points:
1. Don't tar/compress the files there is very little point and I don't want to have to install stuff just to open the files.
2. Don't bother including anything for UK DVB-S/T, got plenty of access to that myself

I have attached a random muxdump from an ATSC stream to issue #1723, if you would like a different one let me know. I currently have a number of US/NA based ATSC muxes listed I can pull from.

Are you able to get the SCOPUS multiplex off 28.5'E?
DVB-S, QSPK, 11,640,000kHz Vertical, 1000kBaud, NetworkID 177
Very low symbol rate and low signal strength - easy test of the SCPC stuff if you can tune to it.
If not I can attach a rip, but bare in mind the signal strength is reported as 0%* it took TSReaderLite about 10 seconds to read the PAT - lots of weak signal artefacts on the video too.
It occasionally appears stronger so I can keep a look out if needed.
Also DVB-S, QSPK, 12,712,000kHz Vertical, 6111kBaud, Network ID 65535 appears sperodically (not there now) and is even weaker.
- My DVB-S tuner is at the end of a long and substandard cable run (can't get the multiplex carrying Kiss, Kerrang, and The Box very well), the receiver in the lounge with a more normal cable does get a better signal but alas can't do any ripping - so you stand a better chance than I if you have a decent setup!

The included muxdump contains 4 HD channels. Until recent git versions (i would guess 3-4 months ago) TVH did discover those services correctly. Later versions of TVH does discover those services, but for some reason it also discovers a lot of services (50+) that's not actually there (they are located on other muxes, and correctly discovered there).
This actually happens to multiple muxes in my setup. When reverting to older versions of TVH, it works fine (i'm using a git version from 31.12.2012 for day-to-day use because of this).
Hopefully this muxdump can help locate this issue.

I'm on tvheadend 3.5.100~g82a1edd and I don't got the raw mux rx option, is it an optional feature of the dvb card that may not be available on mine ?
Anyway I've already made a full ts dump from mumudvb, I hope this helps.

I know you didn't want any UK ones but this is a bit of a weird one that's confused one of my digiboxes (a PVR that hasn't recorded since DSO and which wasn't supposed to work post DSO at all) so might be a good test.
Basically it's listing the same services on two multiplexes i.e. itself (794) and also 698.0 MHz which the multiplex will be moving too tonight (handily TV Headend is now listing the services allowing me to config before the move :o) - whether this is from an overnight test or TVHeadend grabbing them anyway I don't know!)

Irish dvb-t sample attached. Would be great if series link support could be added. Not seeing record series option in tvheadend 3.4 even though saorview (irish dvb-t) offers this.

Modulation: 8VSB
Network: CITY-DT
Target Country: CA
ATSC without subchannels
Tuner: HDHomeRun3 US ATSC (via dvbhdhomerun)
Missing service names and incorrect stypes (Other 0x000).
This used to be working on a very old version of tvheadend (guestimate of 3.2 or 3.0) but never worked on newer versions for a long time.
I cannot revert to the working version because for some reason older versions segfault on startup with my system, which master or release/3.4 runs fine.
HDHomeRun3's are upgraded to latest firmwares. w_scan detects service names and types fine.

- There was an issue with this service in the past due to wrong dvb decriptor, see https://tvheadend.org/issues/251 .
- I didn't really checked this but I'm guessing that there is another error in this service and it is empty subtitles streams (of course not related at all to Tvheadend).
- When opening the stream with VLC the app will complain about "undf codec", from what I gather this is related to the subtitles streams, I'm not sure what is the proper fix for this, maybe with the future transcoding feature one would be able to choose a stream without the subtitles, maybe the subtitles can be processed to another format or dropped (well, I'm guessing they are empty).
