tvheadend with 3 Tuner
Added by Ralf Brinkmann almost 10 years ago
I have setup a debian system with three SAT S2 Tuner:
2 x tevii S660
1 x Sundtek Sky Ultimate IV
The idea behind this is, to be able to have 2 TV feeded, and be able to record at least one channel.
What realy confuses me is, that in the webfrontend I often see at Status the signal strength with 0%
I am still receiving the message that there is no free adapter, even if there is only on TV active.
At the tvheadend client on my iPad I can see in the log lots of entrys with Multiple DVB multiplexes with same identifier.
At configuration DVB inputs I find different muxes:
tevii S660 #1 213 muxes
tevii S669 #2 112 muxes
sundtek. 110 muxes
I dont understand the different mux counts.
Has anyboy expierence with more than 1 tuner connected ti tvheadende?
Has tvheadend some kind of load balancer for the clients, or how can I select a tuner from kodi?
Is there an efficent way tipo setup the services and multiplexes for each tuner?
thanx

Which satellite does your dish point at?
Astra 19.2?
What does your setup look like?
All LNBs directly connected to the tuners?
Any multiswitch in between?
How about the cabling - same quality cable or any difference?

Hi
I have an Astra 19.2 System, with a 16 Port Multiswitch.
The tuner are located directly at the multiswitch, the cable length is app. 0.5 m.
All the cable are the same.
On the other multiswitch exits I have
a Topfiled Twin receiver,
a Kathrein receiver
2 Loewe TV with integrated receiver
So far all work fine.

You need to be in the directory into which you just cloned the source code. This is typically $HOME/tvheadend.
RE: tvheadend with 3 Tuner - Added by Ralf Brinkmann almost 10 years ago
thank you,
I found it.
It is running now.
I will report....
RE: tvheadend with 3 Tuner - Added by Ralf Brinkmann almost 10 years ago
the version 3.9.2308 is running now.
On the Web end I can see all my adapter, and I have enabled them.
Nothing happens. on the old version there was mux to be scanned. Here I see nothing.
Do I have to initiate a start somewhere else?
The console shows "tvheadend successfully established" - all in green.
RE: tvheadend with 3 Tuner - Added by Gary Brown almost 10 years ago
you need to setup your network tab first. add your network there. (if it's astra 19.2e then don't add predefined muxes just add a mux on the mux tab with the info at the bottom)
then you setup each adaptor so they are connected to this network and at this point the network will find most if not all muxes on the sat.
you then either add channels manually or use the new bouquets tab.

I will play around with it, and report....

the tvheadend 3.9.2308 is running, and I can stream TV to my iPad.
In addition I have 2 FireTV running Kodi 14.0 Git: 2014-12-23 with tvheadend client 1.9.39.
Selecting a TV channel results in:
Tvheadend HTSP Client:
- Command failed: Stream Setup Error
- Disconnectd from HTS Tvheadend
- Connected to HTS Tvheadend
I have changed at the user settings the streamin from 'pass' to 'matroshka' (works best for the iPad),
but no change.
The Output of the tvheadend Server shows

Any idea what I can do to get TV back to the TV?
