Freesat Channel Numbering

Added by Rob D about 10 years ago

Hi All,

I'm new to TBH and because I had issues with the stable release am running 3.9.2104~gfc7e0f4~wheezy. I have the one default Astra 28.2 Network defined and the EPG is working fine but I would like to map only Freesat channels and use Freesat numbering, how do I set this up?

I think you want to look at setting up (or selecting) the right bouquet - I've not used it yet myself, but I believe that's what this functionality is designed for. It should be in 2104, but you may need to come more up to date to get full functionality.

Thanks Prof,

I think I have found the right Bouquet for me: England HD: S East/Meridian S - 11426H in Freesat and it works! I just enabled that bouquet, stopped tvheadend, manually deleted all channels (cd /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend, rm -rf channel/config/*, rm -rf channel/tag/*, rm -rf channels/*)and started tvheadend again, it automatically mapped the right channels in a few seconds.

Any Muxes you are missing are listed in the channel list (You can pick out the channels with missing muxes).

Hi Rob,

How did you get the Bouquet listed, I can see god knows how many Bskyb ones but the freesat ones aren't listed.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

It should be multipage with the Freesat bouquets on the later pages (Page 7 0nwards for me). Otherwise make sure you have the 11426H frequency in you frequency list and Network Discovery enabled.

Hi,

This bouquet feature looks great and I can see the one(s) I want to enable. However nothing happens for me - no channels get added when I enable. I've tried all sorts of combinations of auto-map etc. I'm running 4.1.373. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Try checking "Map Zero Numbers" & then play the mux 11428H. With the debug panel open you should see channels being added.

Hi Mark,

Thanks, that makes sense now that I think about how the bouquet functionality must work. I was enabling it and wondering why nothing happened straight away, but nobody was watching telly. I have a Sat>IP server and one of the frontends is setup for background scanning, but maybe it doesn't get to the mux you mention...

As long as you have a bouquet & "Map Zero Numbers" [this is a known bug] enabled it should have added them without the need to tune at all, I had a similar issue where not all bouquets were being found & was told (by perexg) to tune to the mux that contains the bouquets in this case the Freesat home transponder on 11428H.

I think it will trigger eventually by itself but it does take a while.
