It's not actually a new feature, just a renaming of an existing one. Previously it was keep FE open. I've inverted the logic (and default).

Naming is bad, but its marginally better than the other.

Basically if you enable that it will close hte tuners when they're not in use. Which might allow any built-in power saving to be used.

However experience suggests its generally a bad idea for some multi-DVB-S tuners, if you get CC errors when another tuner tunes, don't use this option!

So is it "enable power saving" or is it "permit adapter to shut down", "defer to adapter's power saving" or something like that?

the 2nd or 3rd option is probably more accurate. The original description was technically accurate, just didn't mean much to people.
