Hi Robin,
I guess, you mixed up 2 things. you probably have "tvheadend kodi plugin 1.0.0" inside your XBMC/KODI. This is kind of "front end".
But you did not yet have installed tvheadend "back end" itself.
The version would look like "HTS Tvheadend 3.9.2407~gabea248". Should allways be 3.x version.
Don't knowing OpenElec (I used the backend under raspbmc) , I would point you to ask in a OpenELEC forum, if and how you can install Tvheadend 3.x backend. Answers could look like
ssh or putty 192.168.11.24 sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install tvheadend
If so, do it and come back with your next questions

Daisy

I think OpenElec ships with two addons:
1. The PVR frontend (so the normal Kodi addon)
2. The tvheadend backend software (3.9.x)
You need to install both unless you have a separate tvheadend/backend server.
You can't use sudo or apt-get to update anything on OE; instead, you'll nee to build/find a replacement addon that can be installed from a .zip file.

please note that tvheadend backend has been moved from official to unofficial repository in OE a copuple a days ago.

Hi Robin,
I believe you mean "AnySee E30 DVB-T tuner", right? Alysee is a Car.
On Wikipedia, I found this: "The national public television channels NPO 1, NPO 2, NPO 3 have been free until August 1, 2014 free-to-air. The regional public television channels are still available."
So you should at least be able to get something via DVB-T stick. If I were you, I would first try to get the free to air stuff working, even if they are broadcasting only shit. Then, I would know if my setup and my antenna and all the stuff is well. Finally, I'd rig up the equipment with an additional receiver (the one with SmartCard decoder reader), while trying to borrow a smartcard from friends or family. If this works, I'd purchase an own smartcard and done.
Even is AnySee is a cable tuner and you plan to switch over to DVB-C, I'd do the above named steps...
