Waiting for stream not recording
Added by David Brown over 10 years ago
I am using 3.4~wheezy on a raspberry pi. It's a new install and it has managed to tune in the services and record a couple of times but all recordings now come up with this error.
Doing some Googling it seems to be no signal from the tuner. Whenever I start the web interface I have to select the tuner - it is in the dropdown box but not selected. In the right hand box of device path, device name and currently tuned to is blank. There are details of the multiplexes it has found (177 services 15 multiplexes), and it says it is waiting to scan 15 multiplexes.
Typing lsusb into a terminal window gives me a list of devices attached to USB and it identifies the tuner on bus001 device 008 correctly. dmesg unplugging it and pluging back in again re-registers the tuner OK.
Any ideas where to go with this one please?

Is the tuner on the same device as when it was first detected? Certainly on Ubuntu - and thus Debian, I'd guess - USB devices can wander around when you re-insert them or reboot.

It had wandered around and is now on usb 9. And it's working again after a reboot. Is this likely to happen ever reboot, and is there a way round it?

This article is the most authoritative:

Read it from the bottom, though. If you can get away with using the adapter_nr parameter, it's much easier

Ran into this issue for the first time today. Aborting and trying to manually record the program from WebUI didnt help either. Restarted the server, tried to manually record the same program from WebUI and that worked.
