How to set-up Uk Muxes
Added by Mark Smith almost 11 years ago
How do i set Tvheadend up so i can view UK Freesat channels?
Im using a Technisat SkyStar USB HD with Tvheadend 3.4-dirty.
Ive found a guide that took me to this page http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=SP567105 this states the muxes info for the channels i can get in my area.
The guide showed these settings when i open the "add Mux[es] manually" tab. >>>LOOK AT THE MUXES FILE<<<
In my tvheadend i had these settings >>>LOOK AT THE MUXES 2 FILE<<<
Now my problem as you may have guessed what do i do? Lol
Any help is much appreciated.

It's basically "add the muxes, sit back and let the scanning commence". If you've got the right settings, it's pretty automatic.
I've never personally bothered with most of the details - set the frequency (e.g. PSBA on C53 is 730.2MHz so enter 730200 kHz), set bandwidth to 8 MHz and leave everything else as 'Auto'. Make sure your adapter is enabled, and select 'Autodetect muxes' and off you go...
On the right of the adapter config, you'll see Status:
Status
Currently tuned to:
Gloucestershire: 474,167 kHz
Services:
145
Muxes:
7
Muxes awaiting initial scan:
0
... so you can use this to check when the scan is complete, as the 'awaiting scan' will go down and the 'services' go up. When complete, click 'map DVB services to channels'.

One thing to bare in mind for DVB-T, is that TVH will not currently auto-detect T2 muxes and now there are 2 (the recent one probably not being in the mux lists) you're best bet is to manually enter those 2 muxes. It'll auto detect all the T ones.

Ugh - sorry - just noticed that you're talking SATELLITE and not TERRESTRIAL - the reference to manually adding muxes threw me completely.
There's no need to enter the muxes manually then, only the satellite you're pointing at. You'll be there all month if you have to enter the satellite muxes by hand. Astra 28.2°E for Freesat.
