and if you make a recording using simple dvb-apps tools? do the subtiles also look incorrect?
Trying to determine if this is a tvheadend issue or if this problem is already present in the original datastream.
And if you run the recorded mkv through mkvmerge? is this then also still present?
Hein
Hi,
If I record the stream in raw ts format and play it directly with xbmc, the subtitles look correct.
The problem happens only when streams are played "live".
Marc.
To be more complete, for some channels, the subtitles aren't displayed at all.
I did some research with vdr as a backend (because the problem doesn't occur with it) and perhaps it's a problem with the "type" of subtitle. Tvheadend set it to a default value but channels don't use the same. I don't know what this "type" means.
Regards.
Can you check what kind of subtitles this happens? Is it with dvb subtitles, or with teletext subtitles? Or both?
And it only happens on live tv? So not with recorded files?
All channels send subtitles as dvb subtitles, no teletext for subtitling.
And yes, it only happens with live. But for recorded files, I use a set of patch in tvheadend to record the streams directly in ts format as they are sent.

Hi,
I don't know when it happened but the bug is gone now ! Perhaps it's a change in the stream ? Or is there some changes in the subtitles support in tvheadend ?
For the subtitles not displayed on some channels, it was a problem on xbmc side witch is now solved (this is why I tested subtitles today :-) ).
You can close this issue.
Regards.
