Description

Using Debian Buster 10.1 amd64 (with kernel 4.19.0-6), and tvheadend 4.3-1804~gebb096804~buster (from unstable apt repository).

Tuner used is:

tvheadend fails to scan all muxes using Atlantic Bird 3 pre-defined muxes.

I am able to scan with w_scan (using version 20170107 with command line: "w_scan -fs -sS5W0"), and watch/listen channels using vlc (with w_scan generated playlist).

Other software like szap and dvbv5-scan fail to tune too: status stays 00.

If other software is having issues scanning this is not a tvheadend bug --> Please use the forum for questions

But also other software works (w_scan, vlc), so where is the bug? The kernel driver seems to be fine.

Not in tvheadend if other software has issues aswell.

dvbv5-scan failed because Debian has an outdated dtv-scan-tables package. Using this file: https://git.linuxtv.org/dtv-scan-tables.git/plain/dvb-s/Eutelsat-5-West-A-5.0W fixed both dvbv5-scan and tvheadend. Since tvheadend comes with its own scan tables, it needs to be updated.

While I have no doubt the scan tables are not up to date, I used a 4.3 version installed over a year ago and was now able to scan that sat with the old tables. Did you enable "network discovery"?

Possibly you had some other issue as well...
