Description

Selecting Virgin OTA initially says "disabled by config" after ticking all the boxes it says loaded uk config.

However, it does not retrieve EPG, according to commit:

https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/blob/098318644802bfee4baa7eeeeafac4f81ecd9578/src/epggrab/module/eit.c#L994 which i think was added in 2017

I have disabled all other OTA and left just this one on. Triggered OTA multiple times.

I had upgraded to the latest, however, not all my muxes are found automatically, like they use to. Where I add one mux and it would through discovery find the remaining muxes, itself. Here I am having to add each mux one by one.

I'll raise test it with the few muxes I know and report back regarding the OTA issue and raise a new issue for mux discovery.

I want to update and add that i have just upgraded to 4.3-1719 in order to retain the muxes scanned before and ran the OTA for UK DVB again to the same result.

Thanks for the information, hopefully that gets fixed soon. My OTA EIT grabber issue still remains with any version.

Could you give me the log when you start tvh / play one channel for a minute / shutdown tvh ? Keep tbl-eit tracing on.

I tried to fix this in v4.3-1730-g8818b5220 . If it does not work, please, check your muxes - set the EPG grabber to auto and try again.

@M Fizz
I build a new version of the Tvh addon with the fix included - so pls have a look at the usual location for an recent version.

@cvh thanks for that I have installed it.

Unfortunately no OTA or EIT grabbers are available.

Thank you, with only UK Cable enabled it is downloading the EPG alone. I am wondering though how come it only downloads 12 hours of epg. I know it has over 7 days worth in there?

In addition looking at what you've added, I can see that you have set the nbid. Whilst it will work for me, I suspect it may not work for others there are many different network id's depending on the location in the country. Would it not be possible to use the network ID from the network id field part of "networks"?

Alternatively, I could find all the possible network id's to add

I'd like to detect the specific grabber by at least two numbers (tsid, onid, nbid).

I don't know why only 12 hours of EPG are detected. Perhaps, there's also another table?

In that case, I can give you both onid and nbid.

Here are all the nbid I can find:

00001, 00002, 00003, 00004, 00005, 00006, 00007, 00008, 00009, 00010, 00011, 00012, 00013, 00014, 00015, 00016, 00017, 00018, 00019, 00020, 00021, 00022, 00023, 40961, 40962, 40963, 40964, 40965, 40966, 40967, 40968, 40969, 40970, 40971, 40973, 40974, 40975, 40976, 40977, 40978, 40979, 40980, 40981, 40982, 40983, 40984, 40985, 40986, 40987, 40988, 40990, 40995, 40998, 40999, 41003, 41008, 41009, 41011, 41013, 41015, 41016, 41018, 41020, 41026, 41040, 41041, 41042, 41043, 41044, 41045, 41046, 41048, 41049, 41050, 41051, 41052, 41053, 41054, 41055, 41056, 41059, 41060, 41061, 41063, 41064, 41065, 41066, 41067, 41068, 41069, 41071

Looking at the onid most almost 95% are F020 which is line with the current setting of 61472. If it doesn't satisfy some areas, they wil just have to let you know about their onid to add.

I don't know why only 12 hours of EPG are detected. Perhaps, there's also another table?

The way i think it works is that all EPG for all services is transmitted on particular channels. I managed to get it up to 3 days by tuning into one of these said channels which i think may have triggered it. I don't think tvh needs to be scanning continously on various different frequencies.

On my network nbid 40985, transponder 1's mux 595 Mhz carries the longer epg.

once i changed the 41015 to 40985 the epg was populated.

How many days are you getting? Can you try mux 603 see if you get any more?

hi i've retested 603 Mhz Mux and i just get 48hrs worth of EPG.

where as on 595 Mhz mux i get ~ 5 days worth of EPG, i usually only have this mux enabled for EPG scan.

I only get ~3/4 days worth. Serial and episode data, I assume you mean if it is a weekly show it describes what is going to happen in this episode, then yes I get it.

Hello. I am trying to use the cable UK grabber with no luck.
I am running 4.3-1854~gfda89e85e.
The grabber doesn't get picked and I get no channel numbers.
Reading above, it sounds like it might work with ALL other grabbers disabled?
Not an option for me. I connect to multiple satellites and OTA too.

Any help is appreciated.
Chris
