I can't get series link recording to work on Channel 4 HD via Freeview HD (DVB-T2) in the UK (using the standard Freeview EPG grabber).

Bizarrely, if I set the series link on Channel 4+1 HD (also via DVB-T2) this works absolutely fine, and it also works on other DVB-T2 channels like BBC One HD, BBC Two HD, ITV HD etc.

I have a Freeview HD YouView set top box which handles the series links on Channel 4 HD fine so they're definitely being transmitted.

I've attached a mux dump of the DVB-T2 multiplex carrying Channel 4 HD (Mux PSB3, West Midlands version carrying ITV Central HD from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter).

I'm currently using 4.1-1284~ga5085c8 but I've had the issue in various builds for a fair amount of time now.

I just did a series record for Cowntdown on Channel 4 HD and got this in the log..

I'm using OpenTV (Priority), Freesat and Freeview EPG.

I've also done it again on another box which just uses the Freeview EPG and got the same result but using Channel 4 SD.

I'm also using Sutton Coldfield (but have access to Waltham as well).

I've just tried to series record that same programme (Countdown, 6:00am version). The recording doesn't set on Freeview Channel 4 HD but does on Freesat.

It sets fine on Freeview Channel 4+1 HD:

I don't have Open TV enabled; do you have your Freesat and Freeview HD versions of Channel 4 HD merged to one channel? I have them separate with Freesat on LCN 4 and Freeview HD on LCN 104. Just wondering if your recording could be working from the Open TV or Freesat EPG and not the Freeview HD one.

Hi Adam, I'm curious to know if you managed to resolve this one as I have a similar problem with series recording on ITV HD on Freesat. Series recordings show as waiting to start but never do, however single instance recordings are fine.

It seems to work now! I don't think I've changed anything myself but Channel 4 HD seems to record series links fine now via DVB-T2 and the regular EIT EPG. The accurate record feature works very well too!
