I think this has been requested before, not sure why it hasn't been added yet but IMO it's not very useful anyway as most tuners give incorrect signal readings & are never accurate.

I think that this functionality is already present in Kodi: codecinfo in TV screen. Press 'o' on your keyboard. The button on remote is specific to the configuration.
