is it possible to upgrade the tvheadend from a new unstable version to the last one without losing configuration

It should migrate your config without issue, but make a backup anyway.

may i know where is located the config file ?

I regularly do a cp -a tvheadend tvheadend.nnnn before my git pull command, just in case.

Needs /use/share/tvheadend backup to, in case webui gets messed up...
