Description
Recordings stops after 5-10 min. Epg update is ok and ntp is in use so timing issues is the couse. Same with ecm..

This is encrypted content? It's probably CWC/CAPMT, there are some known issues with the code giving up too soon if it has issues talking to the server. I used to get this a lot, though not so much recently (probably due to changes outside of TVH).

No this is on fta channels also. I found its the "skip commersial" setting combined with record 5 min before program start. It starts recording fine until the actual program start. Then it stops. If i expand the prerecording time to 10 min the recording will increase to the same time and stopp when program start.

Cwc is constant and local with some tweaks ;) actualy it can be to fast sometime, artifical timedelay is added..

disabling "skip commercial" with time before and after actualy program start will work fine.
to use "skip commercial" you can not have Extra time before recordings (minutes):

What channel is it you're running this on, the commskip stuff John added should work on only 1 swedish channel TV4 I think? It was really just a proof of concept.

I dont think this is a issue anymore. I have not used skip commecial for some time.
i tried many different channels for this. Both sd and hd. Fta and encrypted.
but i have not tested this on tv4 channels. I do have those so i will try it again.
This problems with tvheadend was occuring at the same time as the kernel issues with debian 3.2 and the hauppage firmware. Iam not shure if this is tvheadend related or it was a kernel firmware issue..
how is the status for the "skip commercial" setting now?

I just had exactly the same problem with 5min skip extra recording time and skip commercials checked after switched to mkv format.
I think the volume change algorithm may be thinking that the actual program is the commercial since volume changes when program starts :(
This is with tvheadend 4.0.8 and kernel 3.19.0-43

After all it stopped recording after 5-15 minutes again. Only on 1 channel and there is no error.
I have the "skip commercial" option disabled and 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after recording enabled.
I think it happens only when matroska is used. I am testing with pass now. But I would like to use matroska because sometimes the .ts files become unseekable etc. (perhaps another bug?)
