I happened to note the realized state of 100% - is this feature already usable?
... and if so, how can I use it?

No, sorry that's just redmine being annoying with marking it 100% because the sub-issues are closed. Unfortunately I add duplicates as sub-issues as redmine seems to have no such concept.

The status is the important field, if that's not Fixed its not done.
