clone settings to another computer

hi
i want to have 2 computers with the same tvheadend setup. i tried to copy the .hts from my master setup to the other computer. but i run always in trouble with this method. is there a better way?

As far as I'm aware, you can only clone the .hts directory if you have precisely the same tuner setup on both machines - same names, same device numbers. The tuner names are used extensively in the setup, so the only alternative would be some kind of editing script that would rename all of the files and directories (and, perhaps, the contents of some of the files).

computers and tv cards almost the same, only different hdds
so i do not have to rename the files.
i copied the bin and the .hts folder. Now all is running but not the web interface to configure the rest.

You can't just copy the binary - you need the rest of the setup (e.g. the web interface files you're so clearly missing). You need to install tvheadend on the second system, stop it, over-write the .hts directory with the files from the master system (making sure you keep permissions intact, so UID and GID probably needs to match on both systems) and then restart tvheadend. If the cards are identical, on the same ports/slots, then they should work - but any differences and the card will be detected as new and need configuring from scratch.
