No webinterface start

Added by Inrepublica .fr over 11 years ago

Hello all,

I'm using TVHeadEnd with succes on my NAS Synology ds212j since two weeks.
But since today unable to connect to the web interface.

What's weird is that the server itself continues to function properly. With XBMC as frontend, I can normally watch TV.

The top command returns me this:

9727 1 tvheaden S 107m 44.2 1.3 /usr/local/tvheadend/bin/tvheadend -f -u tvheadend -c /usr/local/tvheadend/var -p /usr/local/tvheadend/var/tvheadend.pid

When I'm trying to connect to http://ip_nas:9981/ i've got this message: Erreur 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)

Thank you for your help!

Try a different browser?

Are you certain the IP address hasn't changed (you haven't rebooted?) - can you still access DSM on http://ip_nas?

Does a system reboot or restart of the tvheadend service fix it (in case the internal web server has died for some reason)?

What a strange problem!

Normally I use Google Chrome for surfing. To test, I used Firefox. At the first connection, I connect fine to the web UI. But from the second time, unable to connect with Firefox or Google Chrome!!! Firefox said that "The connection was reset" ...

Here, I do not understand anything ...

Is there a log file in tvheadend for debug?

RE: No webinterface start - Added by Prof Yaffle over 11 years ago

tvheadend writes to syslog, and you can also switch debugging on for more verbose output by setting DEBUG=1 in /etc/default/tvheadend. Or you can switch it on in the web interface, of course :)

(I'm assuming that it's the same on Synology - except it'll write to /var/log/messages, IIRC, plus you may have to hunt for the config file with find / -name tvheadend).

Browser error? What happens if you try a different PC or OS (inc. smartphone), or Opera or IE, what happens if you switch on incognito mode in Chrome or open a new private browser window in firefox? Do you have any addons that could be causing it? Do you have any URL scanning software (anti-malware/anti-virus) or a LAN proxy server?

writes to Syslog? On synology there is no /etc/default/tvheadend...

I've try find / -name tvheadend on synology:
/usr/local/tvheadend
/usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/tvheadend
/usr/syno/etc/packages/tvheadend
/root/.hts/tvheadend
/volume1/@appstore/tvheadend
/volume1/@appstore/tvheadend/share/tvheadend
/volume1/@appstore/tvheadend/bin/tvheadend
/var/packages/tvheadend

But nothing tvheadend configuration file...

I've tested with incognito mode in chrome and it's working fine. I've disabled all addons in Chrome and I don't have any anti-virus or Lan proxy.

I'm guessing that one of those is your global config file, but I know that Synology packages follow their own paths so you'd need to check each one individually, or even try searching for something else. I don't have a DiskStation to check for you, I'm afraid.

Regarding browsers... this seems to be a not-uncommon problem with websites in Chrome. If it works in Incognito Mode then that suggests that it's a bug in the browser... except that it shouldn't then go to Firefox as well (WebKit versus Gecko, I think). Very odd.

I think I might have to raise a white flag for the moment, I can't think of what might be happening...

I have similar issue. Unable to load web interface with Firefox via local interface (192.158.1.5 in my case) but works with external address in Firefox and with both addresses in other browsers. Clearing cookies for 192.158.1.5 helped (I am using several services on this address, so it can interfere). Looks like tvheadend web server parses cookies in a wrong way.
