Can TVheadend join different 'recorders' together and act as Master?
Added by Chris Beasley over 11 years ago
Is TVHeadend able to act as a Master and join other tvheadend devices to it? I.e. I have a central low powered unit with TVheadend on it, but no tuner cards (to keep power down).
Does TVHeadend allow you to connect other devices such as the TBS Moi as a slave device, so that does all the decoding for its tuners but is only active when the unit is being used? Or if I have a master system and run out of PCI-E slots and need to add more, I can simply set another server to connect to the Master?
I guess much like Argus TV on windows which has a scheduler component which sorts out which does what, and then seperate recorders that can be added from different machines.
Thanks,
Chris

Not currently, but there are a couple of the developers who would like to see these kinds of features (me included), so hopefully it will happen in the future.

Short answer, no.
Though it had been discussed and I did start looking at some ideas to turn
my moi into a pair of remote tuners . But I've had to much on my plate to
give it proper thought.
