HD Channels - Openelec/TVHeadend

Added by Dave Keel over 11 years ago

Hi - Just invested in a PCTV Nanostick - DVB-T2 to get HD UK TV via my Zbox Media Player - the usb stick is displayed as Sony CXD2820R
I have picked up all of the SD Channels but can't seem to get it to find the HD Channels
In my region (Belmont, UK) the HD Channels are broadcast on 530000
I've tried just about every combination of Bandwidth-8Mhz/Constellation-QAM256/Transmission Mode-.. I need 32K here I think but no 32K in my drop down/Guard -1/32 (I think!)/Heirarchy - None/FEC Hi - 2/3/FEC Lo - None (I think)
However, whatever combination I use I cannot get 530000 to show as a proper Network (eg in my case East Yorks and Lincs) or a Network ID or Mux ID - all the other multiplexes display OK - and so the HD Channels are not found of course?!
Any TVHeadEnd users who have managed to receive UK HD Terrestrial Channels able to advise on their settings - the only reason I purchased the Nanostick was to get HD ... my old usb stick gets SD just fine!
(and I have tested the Nanostick via Windows and supplied software and it receives all 4 UK HD Channels perfectly well)
Hope somebody can help - thanks in anticipation (please make your advice as simple as possible - bit of a newbie!)
Thanks
Dave

I have the same stick, and Freeview HD works fine for me on 482.2MHz. 8k, everything else Auto. Don't worry about Constellation, Transmission Mode or anything else - if it has an Auto setting, choose it!

What transmitter are you pointing at? Check it at www.ukfree.tv to make sure you've got the frequency correct.

Hi Prof Yaffle - thanks for taking the time to reply. Your recommendation has worked - I've been try too hard to be precise re my settings and you are right ... use AUTO!!!
I'm in the Belmont transmitter area and now, thanks to your advice and a bit of patience, I'm receiving BBC 1HD, BBC HD, CH4 HD and ITV HD!!!
Thanks again - one step nearer to perfection. Just need to get my recordings to reside on my unRaid server and I can then view them through the house!
Cheers!
