Issues with 3.2.18 & K-World UB499-2T adapter

Added by Iain Firth almost 12 years ago

I've installed TVheadend on a vortexbox system (fedora16) which I already use as a media server. The install itself went fine but Im having some issues getting any of the streams to work. I've included the errors below in case anyone is able to offer any solutions to the problem.

Disable pmt monitoring in adapter config.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'd already tried this from reading other posts on the forums.

Cheers,
Iain

Hi Iain,

Did you get yours working?

I have the same Tuner on Ubuntu (running 3.2.34 though) and with the following options in TV Headend it works for me:-

  • Autodetect Multiplexes - Unticked (keeps adding the pesky multiplexes from Belmont, Sutton Coldfield, Sandy Heath, and Nottingham otherwise making a mess of the channel list).
  • Skip Inital Scan - Unticked
  • Idle Scanning - Unticked
  • Close Device Handle When Idle - Ticked (No specific reason, found this worked best for my Dsat card though)
  • Skip service availability check when mapping - Unticked
  • Use SID as channel number during mapping: - Unticked
  • Monitor signal quality - Unticked (shows about 10% on some multiplexes on the second tuner, but works fine anyway (once you restart TV Headend to fool it into thinking quality is 100%) - all 100% on the primary tuner)
  • Disable PMT Monitoring - Ticked
  • Write full DVB MUX to disk - Unticked
  • Original Network ID: - 0
  • Extra priority: - 2 (for _1), 3 (for _2) - my old card is "1" as it's worked fine for years!

See attached for a screenshot which might be easier to read.

Hi Kev,

Thanks for the help. TV Headend has actually started working for me now to be honest. I've applied the settings you used and its behaving. I dont know if there's been some updates on the pi / raspbmc that have assisted with this but its managed to record a programme today. Now I just need to mount an network drive and have it record off to that and thats it for me!

I've not tested the live TV function as yet but its not really important at this moment in time!

All the best and thanks for the advice on the config. Much appreciated.
