Problem with streaming from web GUI

Added by Jeff Feeser about 12 years ago

Hi all, first time user here trying to get up and running with TVheadend (and eventually XBMC liveTV). I've got the web GUI up and running, the tuners scanned for channels correctly, and i've imported XMLTV data and mapped my channels. However when i click on a show in the EPG that's currently airing, and i click "play", the VLC window opens and nothing plays. I've created a * user like i saw recommended in another post, but i get the same result. I enabled the debug log and i noticed this when i clicked play:

Oct 31 23:12:47 HTTP: 192.168.1.12: /playlist/channelid/9 -- 401
Oct 31 23:12:47 HTTP: 192.168.1.12: /playlist/channelid/9 -- 401

The weird thing is the IP of my HDHomerun isn't .12, it's .11. Can anyone point me in the direction of what could be causing this problem? I've checked that the HDHomerun is in fact functioning properly using the GUI software on my windows box, but i'd like to use TVHeadend for it instead.

Thanks in advance!

The IP address listed there is the client address I think (where you're browsing from).

A quick test to see if this is a permissions issue is to start TVH without any permissions checking, use the -C command line option.

There are all sorts of issues with VLC integration within the UI which is why when we get time (and find someone to do it) we'll get rid of it!
