Transport error indicator (Mystique SatiX Dual PCIe)
Added by Sascha Sambale about 12 years ago
Hi guys,
I'm using a Mystique SatiX Dual PCIe (XPress) on OpenElec (Intel - latest GIT build) and in the logs I can see the following entries when watching/recording TV.
Sep 11 19:10:22 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: TELETEXT @ #4064: Continuity counter error Sep 11 19:10:22 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: MPEG2AUDIO @ #4062: Continuity counter error Sep 11 19:10:43 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: MPEG2VIDEO @ #4061: Continuity counter error Sep 11 19:11:22 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: Transport error indicator Sep 11 19:11:22 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: MPEG2VIDEO @ #4061: Continuity counter error Sep 11 19:11:42 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: Transport error indicator Sep 11 19:11:42 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: MPEG2VIDEO @ #4061: Continuity counter error Sep 11 19:12:23 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: Transport error indicator Sep 11 19:12:23 TS: DVB Adapter 1/11,973,000 kHz Vertical (SatConf)/VIVA Germany: MPEG2AUDIO @ #4062: Continuity counter error
According to the timestamps this matches a pattern (see the seconds).
So what might be interfering here? Could it be a job that is running? Has anyone solved this issue already?
I've seen in the forum that others have the same issue... unfortunately some of them just replaced their DVB card... so that would not be a solution for me!
Regards and thanks in advance,
Sascha

Yeah it does seem to be a bit repetitive. A couple of questions:
1. Have (or can) you tried v3.0, just to rule out if the recent changes have caused a problem.
2. Does this actually result in a problem on screen? I.e. lots of artefacts?
Occasional error, while undesirable, should have minimal impact. Though there is certainly evidence that yours is more of a systematic fault (due to the repetitiveness).

I have the same problem with TeVii S470, i've tested on kernel 3.2, 3.4 and latest 3.5.4.
