NTSC support

I see that to gain NTSC support I need to recompile the service after changing a value in an include file. When I make this change what capabilities will I loose? Thanks,

hopefully none ... but this is only needed if you work with analog ntsc tv reception if I am correct.

If there is no down-side, why not include NTSC by default? I have an environment of ATSC, NTSC and QAM-256 signals. So yea, I need all three at once.
