Big truble with TT CT-3650 Ci USB HD
Added by ovidiu marius almost 13 years ago
I installed on my linux server (debian squeeze) with last s2-liplianin driver and on dmesg | grep -i dvb, dvb card looks ok, loaded and ready to use but when I start tvheadend dvb card crash and give only errors.
In same configuration I use TT S2 - 3650 CiUSB HD and works perfect with tvheadend.
Please can someone give me a tip to make this dvb-c/t card to work with linux ???

Why do you use the s2-liplianin drivers and not the default linux dvb drivers. As fas as i can tell this device is supported by the default kernel drivers.

How can I use default kernel drivers ??
I don't know how can I set lt this card with default drivers, if you know can you show me how can I do this ?
Without s2-liplianin driver dvb card seems to appear ok on usb as : Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0b48:300d TechnoTrend AG TT-connect CT-3650 CI but not as dvb device so how can I use this on tvheadend ???

what kernel version are you running?
What you could do is manually compile the linux media kernel drivers and get the latest/greatest version.
see this to do this:

I have 2 devices :
Router Station Pro with Debwrt and 2.6.32.20 kernel (TT S2-3650 works TT CT-3650 don't works) and Pc with debian squeeze kernel 2.6.32-5 ( TT S2-3650 work, TT CT-3650 don't work) on bouth devices I have the same problem: TT CT-3650 seems to be ok until I start tvheadend.
As I say I try to install media_build packeage but I got only errors, I install v4l-dvb driver (TT CT-3650 appear ok only dvb-c but when I start tvheadend I got same problems) and when I install s2-liplianin I got bouth tunners C and T but with tvheadend again problems.
Here is what I have until I start tvheadend:
root@debwrt:~# dmesg | grep -i dvb
dvb-usb: found a 'Technotrend TT-connect CT-3650' in warm state.

dvb-usb: Technotrend TT-connect CT-3650 successfully initialized and connected.

And here is what I have after I start tvheadend :
root@debwrt:~# dmesg | grep -i dvb

It seems that nobody will help me with advice ...
RE: Big truble with TT CT-3650 Ci USB HD - Added by Hein Rigolo almost 13 years ago
we also have other things to do besides offering free advice and help on this forum...... please keep that in mind.
But:
This line in your dmesg might point to the real issue:
dvb-usb: recv bulk message failed: -145
somehow the usb device can not correctly communicate with your system.
I can understand why you get problems when you try to use linux-media drivers (the same that are in the mainline kernel). This is because they do not really work well with your kernel versions. I would suggest to try to update to a more recent kernel and then try to see what happens.
Also try to get the card working with the dvb-apps programs first. For more information about testing your dvb hardware please look at the linuxtv.org wiki for more information.
