Xenial version

UPDATE.
Following instructions and paths on https://bintray.com/tvheadend/deb/tvheadend/ installs repositroy and TVHeadend with no errors on 16.04LTS. To be tested but optimistic
Just built and tested a new 16.04 with TV tuners etc - but there seems to be no Xenial TVHeadend release available .. Doh, should have checked!
1. Is there a version I can use on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS please?
2. When will the 'certified' 16.04 LTS version be available?
Thanks

Hi!
As I need/want to re-setup my mediacenter in a not too far future I'd be interested, too!
Or shouldn't I wait, install on 15.04 and upgrade later?
Thx!

FWIW I'm running tvheadend from the stable repo on 16.04. It's working, with caveats:
1: I think the systemd stuff isn't right. It doesn't start after boot as expected. However, manually doing a
sudo systemctl start tvheadend
after boot does work.
2: They got rid of linux-firmware-nonfree! If your receiver needs a firmware that comes from there, you'll have to supply it yourself. You can just get a linux-firmware-nonfree from an older ubuntu, and install it directly, but I just installed the .fw file I needed.
Other than that, it seems to be working; having said that I just pulled the existing configuration forward onto the new install rather than going through any setup process.

I am just in the process of cutting the cord, after many years of using NextPVR/Mediaportal and most recently WNC (because of cable card). I intsalled Ubuntu 16.04/Kodi and am trying to install tvheadend on my A10-based computer, which has two ATSC hauppauge tuner cards. Following the link's instructions to install the stable version, the last command (sudo apt-get install tvheadend) results in:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package tvheadend
I notice that there were "configured multiple times" and "failed to fetch" messages as a result of the update command.
So now what? I've been googling without success.
thanks,
greg

I'm having the same problem. Not able to upgrade tvheadend anymore (nor install on fresh Ubuntu VB).

ok, i just installed the recent build ("HTS Tvheadend 4.1-2346~gc09f704") on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04, and got as far as mapping channels. The web interface then gave me a grid display error. I am, however, able to play channels in the Config/DVB Inputs/Services tab. I will call it partial success and attempt re-scanning/mapping tomorrow.

btw: i am using two HVR-1600 and a HVR-2250, which needed the updated firmware per "https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-2250"
