Front ends to TVHeadend
Added by D N almost 9 years ago
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of a front end to TVHeadend other than Kodi?
I would like to access TVHeadend to schedule recordings, series recordings etc and then use Synology Video Station to watch the recorded tv programmes as this can be opened on my TV.
Synology video station cant set the recording schedules in TV Headend though so I need to use something else.

You have the web interface, of course, plus a couple of clients on Android and iOS. There was also a mobile web interface, but I think that fell by the wayside somewhere...
If you're using Video Station because of its DLNA server (just guessing), you could always look at minidlna or something directly on your tvheadend box... unless you're running tvh on the Synology, of course

Thanks for the reply, Prof.
I am running TVHeadend on my Synology 1511+.
The reason I want to use video station is that I have a Samsung TV with the video station app and its a nice front end to pick up the recorded tv along with all my movies etc.
Its difficult to get the recorded shows into a good format that video station can index. I was using DVBLink but that saved all recorded tv in a very unusual filename format and video station could not index them properly and also couldn't rewind and fast forward properly. Im now in the process of setting up TVHeadend. Hopefully that wwill be better.
Do you know the name of the iOS app? maybe I can use that?

Somewhat confusingly, both apps are called "tvhclient", despite being utterly different... just follow the links I posted, although you may need to switch to your home country store.
