Status of hardware transcoding?

Hi

Saw a thread about Intel Quicksync and hardware tanscoding. What is the current status? has anyone tried it and got it to work?

There was some talk on IRC a while ago - I believe it wasn't a trivial piece of work to get it working because of the dependencies on Intel libraries on Linux. Have a look in the logs on colabti.org... I think lekma was working on something (as well as VAAPI/VDPAU general hardware calls).
