Deleted services keep coming back.

Added by andrew miller about 9 years ago

Hi there.

My tvheadend has finished scanning for channels and has picked up over 800 channels, problem is when I try and delete them so I can start mapping what I need it will start re adding the ones ive deleted.

So how can I stop tvheadend from picking up the services I don't need?? or atleast postpone it for a couple of hours while I delete and map what I do need???

Have you tried disabling the services before you map, instead of deleting them? Assuming you're on any kind of recent build, there's an "Enabled" check box next to each service - clear this for the unwanted ones, and save.

how will that effect the scan for channel mapping.

If the services are disabled, they can't be mapped to channels. They'll always come back otherwise, because they exist on those muxes and you can't change that (well, not without reconfiguring the broadcaster, which is no small feat :) )

Ultimately, you watch channels, not services, so it really doesn't matter how many services there are, whether they work, what colour they are, or anything else - it's the channel list that matters.
