Touch friendly WebUI
Added by Thomas Scheider over 9 years ago
Hi,
I like to administer tvheadend via my ipad, but the webui isn't very touch friendly. The top controls are too wide and don't scroll, u can't adjust column widths, etc.
Is there an alternative ui which is better suited for tablet use? (The tvhclient app doesn't support full functionality)
And added complication is that i'm on openelec, but i'm able to make a custom build.

tvhclient?
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tvhclient/id638900112?mt=8
or, for anyone else who stumbles along, there's also this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tvheadend.tvhclient&hl=en_GB
Same name, different platform, totally different application.
There was also a mobile UI, but I don't know if it still works or if it's been abandoned:

And, finally, you could always volunteer to update the main tvh interface from extJS 3.4 to something that supports touch properly. You should be able to adjust columns, etc. in the current view, but you perhaps need very pointy fingers to do it properly.

Firstly, kudos to the team I am a newcomer to this, but am impressed how well tvh works.
To be honest, I am probably in a minority of one that would love to use a Windows Phone to access the web interface of the EPG to search and schedule recordings - at the moment, no scrolling at all works on that platform, and the list boxes are a bit inaccessible.
re " And, finally, you could always volunteer to update the main tvh interface from extJS 3.4 to something that supports touch properly" ... have you any thoughts as to what would be a beneficial way forward for that, in terms of tools/technologies used ? A newer version of extJS or maybe a different approach ? Just curious really ... I would be interested in looking at this to see if I could do anything useful (probably not, but you never know ...)
