TVHeadend Port issues

Added by nick Wells over 9 years ago

Hi
I have recently updated to DSM 5.1 5055

DUring the update process my TVHeadend had stopped working. I took the view to install it. Trying to re-install it i get the following error

Port 9981 configured for this package is either used by antoehr service or reserved for system use. Please disable or modify the conflicting service or contact the developer to modify the package

No restarting the Server resolves the issues but i am unable to install TV headend and get it working since updating to 5.1.5055

Any ideas?

Thanks
N

It's forever since I tried to use tvh on a NAS, but this looks like your problem:

31740 1 101 D 353m 9.1 0.0 /usr/local/tvheadend-testing/bin/tvheadend -f -u tvheadend-testing -c /usr/local/tvheadend-testing/var -p /usr/loca
29829 1 101 D 353m 9.1 0.0 /usr/local/tvheadend-testing/bin/tvheadend -f -u tvheadend-testing -c /usr/local/tvheadend-testing/var -p /usr/loca

... so it looks like you have two versions installed.

Not sure where to go from there... on a Linux box (which this is at its core), I'd be looking for startup scripts (grep for tvheadend?) to see what's launching it, and, indeed, what it's launching. You might also find something on synocommunity if that's the source, as the uninstall isn't working so you might have to do it manually.

Unless it's an issue with DSM, of course, that's been known to break unofficial packages...

A quick update
Running 5.1 5055 on my microserver was the issue. since flashing to 5.2 the issue was resolved. So the DSM install was the issue
