how can i get from the version number to the git hash

The wrong way around - version to git hash vs hash to version - so you'll need to dig, but click on the ID of any of the builds listed on https://tvheadend.org/builds/tvheadend. You'll see the commit numbers.

I suppose you could also search the #hts log on colabti.org for the version numbers, but I don't know you'll get anything more than the links above.
