TVHeadend 3.9.422 How to configure?

Added by Alexander Lohse almost 10 years ago

Hi,

I try to use TVHeadend on my QNAP TS-219 P II with an Sundtek Sky Ultimate III DVB-S2 Stick.

But now I don't know how to configure till end so everything will work well.

Is there anyway an tutorial about it?

What I've done so far:
I've installed TVHeadend with "TVHeadend_0.7.5_arm-x19.qpkg"-Installer.
After install, I build a new Network-Entry which is called LAN1 with Astra 19.2 and enabled the Stick.
Then I choose the LAN1-Network for use with the Stick.

On tab Networks I see about 115 Muxes, 471 Services and 'Scan Q length' is about 81 %.
On tab Services I don't see any Channelname.

On older version I've got 1571 Services with Channel-Names and could sort them, but then I don't know to go on.
I've clicked on Button play and VLC-Player opens but I couldn't see any picture on it. I can choose a Channel but thats all, no picture, no sound.

The Stick is working well, because with DVBLink I could stream to VLC-Player.

So can anyone help me about configuration because this isn't really self-explaining for user who first time use TVHeadend?

Thx forward.

Sounds like you're close... as you discover services, click the 'map' button to turn them into channels. You also need an EPG source (OTA or XMLTV as in previous versions) before events (programmes) will appear on the first tab.

Thx for reply.

I've installed now 3.5.126 which seems to be more comfortable to setup. Now I got 1531 Services. In 3.9.422 only 421? Why?
And why there is now an full other way for settings, which isn't easy to setup?

OK, so far so good.

Now I set XMLTV for EPG and I can see EPG-Data.

But when I try to play something nothings happens. I've tried it with VLC-Player on Win 8.1 with HTSP-Plugin and on my Smartphone with TVHClient.
On my Smartphone I see the EPG-Data. But when I try to play a Channel there is an Network Error.

In Webinterface on Status I see an Signal Strength between 90 - 92 %. That seems to be OK.

So what's going wrong?

EDIT:
Puhh, real hard work. But now it's running and I can see stream on VLC and on TVHCLient.
I don't know why it's now working, because I'vd done nothing more. Only wait for some time
