No signal after few hours ...
Added by XDanik X about 10 years ago
Hello,
I have Synology DS213j and TVheadend installed in Debian Chroot enviroment.
Tuner is Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity (detected as 2x DiBcom 7000PC).
First few hours its working fine. (signal 70-80%)
But next day i have no signal (0%) and When i switch channel i get "Status changed to [Graceperiod expired]".
I tryed restart TVheadend, or unplug and replug adapter, but only reboot whole NAS fix that.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Power saving on the tuners - either from tvheadend or, more likely, from the NAS OS?

I only found something named "Synology deep sleep" that was enabled, so i disabled that.
And now wait to test...
Thanks

You might find that the NAS is going into standby, waking up and leaving the tuners asleep.
I suspect you've stopped it from sleeping, which means using more power but perhaps avoiding the problem.
There may also be kernel parameters to keep the USB ports alive - but now I'm really guessing.
Check tvheadend as well to make sure that it isn't the one sending them to sleep (on the adapter configuration pages).

Did you mean "Close device handle when idle" and "Idle scanning" ?

I couldn't remember what it was called on the old version of tvh
It's the 'close device handle' option - turn that off. You can leave idle scanning on, that's how tvh finds new channels/services without a manual re-scan.

Old version? I am running HTS Tvheadend 3.4~wheezy. It's newest version, or not?

Wow... Build v3.9.1911 ... Hmm
But Apt-get says no upgrades

You'd need the unstable PPA. And be prepared for regular updates, not all of which will work completely (although probably will most of the time).
There's nothing wrong with 3.4 if it does what you need...
