Recordings get automatically deleted
Added by Dirk Storck about 10 years ago
Hi,
I am using version 4.0.7 of openElec and XBMC as frontedn with the tvheadend service activated.
I noticed that my recordings get automatically deleted.I know that there is a setting which controls after how many days a recording gets deleted.
wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Configuring_live_TV_settings
-> "Default recording lifetime"
The recording is maybe a week old. I have set that value to 200 but still my recordings get deleted.
Can I somehow totaly disabled the automatic deleting of recordings?
Thank you!

Are they really being deleted, or simply removed from the list of available recordings? There's a setting in the tvheadend web interface that controls the retention period in the recordings list, although it doesn't ever delete the files themselves unless you manually tell it to.
I've never used the XBMC setting, so I suspect that tvheadend is ignoring it and automatically 'pruning' your recording list as above.

If they are only removed from the recordinglist is there a way to update the recordinglist?
Thank you!

You mean add them back in? There's a directory of DVR log files, you'd need to re-create the log file or restore from backup and perhaps tvh would pick them up again on a restart. Much easier to increase the log retention period to something much longer so they don't disappear in the first place...
