[SOLVED] Getting "Continuity counter error" periodically
Added by Szymon S. over 13 years ago
Hi,
I'm getting hundreds of "Continuity counter error" every ~8 minutes that last 1-2 minutes (video and audio is really jumpy then). Top does not show any extra load that would appear during that time, total CPU load is quite low, around 10-15% while watching in XBMC which is in the same PC. I have also disabled "Idle scanning".
I have tested under Windows with producer application and it seemed to work fine, signal is strong enough.
Any idea where can I look for a reason of that?

does this also happen when you tune to a channel using dvb-apps tools and then use femon to monitor the signal? if there are continuity errors then this might also show in the femon output.

I tested on vdr (same pc but different OS installation) and problem did not appear, SNR is 95% and signal strength (str) is 45%.
On windows signal strength is shown as 80%.
I also tested on my laptop by installing tvheadend and attaching dvb device. Everything seemed to work (same signal values are showing).
It must be then something with my setup of xbmc-live. Where should I look in?

I found a problem, there is something messing up with /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm. Whenever there is wake alarm set, then every 8 minutes tvheadend produces huge number of: "Continuity counter error".
