Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8?
Added by Prof Yaffle over 10 years ago
Can anyone out there do me a quick favour and test IE11 behaviour on the very latest builds of tvheadend, please? I don't know if we've got a re-appearance of an old bug, or whether my system is having a bad day.
I don't use IE very often (okay, at all), but was doing some testing and noticed that I couldn't get it to open more than the EPG and DVR tabs, despite my access rules seeming to be fine. Indeed, I tested from the same machine in Chrome and Firefox, and all tabs reported for duty with no hesitation, so I suspect a resurrection of issue #1081.
F12 to bring up the developer tools, Ctrl+2 to stitch to the Javascript Console, F5 to refresh the tvheadend interface, and I get:
HTML1300: Navigation occurred. File: extjs.html HTML1202: http://192.168.2.90:9981/extjs.html is running in Compatibility View because 'Display intranet sites in Compatibility View' is checked. File: extjs.html SCRIPT1010: Expected identifier File: idnode.js, Line: 66, Column: 9 SCRIPT1028: Expected identifier, string or number File: mpegts.js, Line: 15, Column: 18 SCRIPT1010: Expected identifier File: status.js, Line: 56, Column: 11
Switching compatibility mode on or off seems to make no difference. And I can't see any immediate problem with any of the listed .js files either...

I too, dont use IE11, but gave it a try, and I only get 2 tabs showing.
I get exactly the same errors as posted above.
Glen.

Yup, that's suspiciously familiar - thanks, I'll log it as a bug.
EDIT: issue #2009.

It appears to affect earlier versions (9+) as well - seemingly to do with IE8 compatibility mode as forced by the .js code.
