Is tuner priority working in 3.9.385 ?

Added by Meindert Oldenburger over 10 years ago

As you can see below i like to have in all cases my first tuner dedicated for Astra2 and/or Hotbird. But I can't figure out how the Priority property works in "Configuration" -> "DVB Inputs" -> "TV Adapters" -> "Advanced settings"

Is it working? and works it also for the EPG scanning?

My configuration is 2 x TBS6981, so 4 tuners in total.
I have 4 networks configured: Astra1 (Quad LNB), Astra2 (Single LNB), Astra3 (Quad LNB) and Hotbird (Single LNB)
Tv Adapaters are:
Conexant CX24117/CX24132 #0 (Four port switch) Priority 15
AA: Astra1, AB: Astra2, BA Astra3, BB: Hotbird
Conexant CX24117/CX24132 #1 (Two port switch) Priority 10
A: Astra1, B: Astra3
Conexant CX24117/CX24132 #2 (Two port switch) Priority 5
A: Astra1, B: Astra3
Conexant CX24117/CX24132 #3 (Two port switch) Priority 20
A: Astra1, B: Astra3

Tuner priority seems to have always worked for me, but you need to use bigger numbers - it's an inverted scale, so it's "cost" rather than "priority".

I have priority 1000 on my DVB-T tuner, 500 on DVB-T2 and 0 on DVB-S2. I default to satellite every time, as expected, unless those tuners are locked or - obviously - I select a programme that's only on terrestrial.

I can't remember, but I think EPG is priority 100. That's a different scenario, in that it needs to give way to recording (highest priority) and Live TV (next highest).

It's not working is my opinion. I tried a lot of differend configurations but always tuner #0 it taken as the first tuner to record something. After a configuration switch i restarted the backend before verify.

Running 3.9.569.
One DVB-S2 adapter has priority 100, the others have priority 0.
With live streaming, XBMC is served with one of the priority 0 adapters. Fine.
Recording... gets the priority 100 adapter.
Is this a bug?
