What exactly does the "full mux reception" do when enabled?

Added by Jelle De Loecker over 11 years ago

I was getting a lot of errors on HD DVB-S2 signals (I got 7 errors on "BBC One HD" in 30 minutes).
I've read in several places this should best be turned off, so I did. And now I've been watching error free for 10 minutes.

But why? And what does it do, anyway? And is there a way to fix it?
Am I missing out on something by not using it?

I first thought it would affect my ability to watch other channels on the same mux, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Very little. At this point its mostly only useful if you need to debug an issue or grab a full mux dump for testing purposes.

In the future Andreas has some ideas that might be able to make use of it for quicker zapping on the same mux, but that's for the future if and when he finds time.
