Elgato DTT stick and Synology DS412+
Added by Thomas Campet about 12 years ago
Hi,
I've got an issue with my Elgato Eye Tv and Tvheadend.
The USB stick is plugged on a DS412+ Synology NAS and is fully recognized by Video Station.
I also can see it is installed via dmesg.
But I can not see it via the "adapter" menu in tvheadend and don't know why.
I tried to restart many times my NAS, with and without Video Station launched, but nothing appears in adapter.
Any ideas ?

Resolved after :
chmod 755 /dev/dvb/adapter*
chmod 666 /dev/dvb/adapter*/*
chown root:users /dev/dvb/adapter*/*

It is not working with DS210J and IT9135 (Synology displays it in info window, discovers channels in Video Station, however I can not choose adapter from the list) listed as: "Zolid Mini DVB-T Stick - Integrated Technology Express, Inc".
TvHeadEnd on GeexBox machine discovers the tuner right away, without any problems.
Can anyone help me?

What I did :
1) Installed and launched Video Sation and fixed owner and permissions as described upon
2) Stopped TVheadend service
3) rebooted the NAS
4) launched TVheadend
Then try to go to : http://your_nas_ip/9881 and try to select you device in Configuration/adapter.
Hope it will help
Let me know! gl !

It worked. Is Video Station needed? Or can I remove it?
It is discovering MUX's but I can not map services to channels.

If you remove it your usb tunner will be unmounted.

It is discovering MUXes 100% signal, it is discovering services, but not the name of it. I also can not map it to channels. On GeexBox it is working.

Same for me. No mapping.

I was able to run TVHeadend on Synology DS210j, however:
1. after reboot, devices are gone. You have to make the chmod procedure again.
2. With Video Station not running, TVHeadend is not seeing adapter / devices (in my case IT9135)
3. With Video Station uninstalled situation is the same.
Looks like TVHeadend cant run alone at all.
4. No channel names, providers, numbers, groups and EPG are NOT mapped in services, so I have had to do it manually which is painfull experience.
The same thing on GeexBox 3.0 is mapping channel names, numbers, providers, groups, and some EPG without problems (EPG is not loading for abot 2/3 of channels, the other have holes in EPG like for 2-3hrs. Sometimes less, sometimes more.)
I was thinking I get rid of Video Station, and run TVHeadend on Synology, but my guess is that it is too early for it.

Similar problem here but no luck, but with HDHomeRun.
I have a DS1511+ (intel based), TVHeadEnd from synocommunity.com, DSM 4.2.
Video Station recognizes my HDHomeRun and I can see TV Feeds, but the TV Adapters combobox in TVHeadEnd is empty.
I tried the change of permission, reboot, etc... but nothing worked so far
Ideas?
