My location is not listed?
Added by JTP TP about 12 years ago
Hey!
I have got my tuner working in Me TV fine. But when I go to select my DVB Network (I live in the UK) it doesnt show a suitable location. Is there a way to add my location?
Thanks!

Many of the scan files are wildly out of date (assuming you're talking DVB-T?). We get the files from linuxtv.org so we usually point people in their direction when things are missing.
Worth doing a quick google it might be there is a file around for your region that just hasn't been accepted to linuxtv archive yet.
Also try popping along to #hts several UK users hang out in there and might be able to offer some help/guidance.

Thanks for the speedy reply!
It is DVB-T yeah. Could I use a scan file from Me TV?
What would I have to google to find the file?
Thanks!

If it's a standard scan file (as found in /usr/share/dvb) then yes. By default TVH includes its own set of scan files which are used. However you can point it at any directory that contains sub-folders like dvb-t, dvb-s etc...
Typically you will have /usr/share/dvb on a distro that you've installed standard DVB packages to. You could place it in there or TVHs files will be somewhere under /usr/share/tvheadend.
If you want to use an alternative config location goto Config->General and enter the path in the provided box. Note: this is feature is only available in current git, not in a release.

Thanks!
I typed in w_scan -c GB -X > channels.conf to terminal and it went great. But I cant find channels.conf. Any idea where it might be?

Is it stuck on a particular frequency? What is being listed in the adapter summary tab?

Thats some debugging information.
It just does a range of 600 700 KHz and doesnt seem to progress much from there.
Wheres the adapter summary tab?
Cant seem to find it. Sorry to be a pain.

Still scanning and doing the same thing. Can I use a file I generated with W_Scan for it?
If so where does w_scan keep the channels.conf?
RE: My location is not listed? - Added by Adam Sutton about 12 years ago
Sorry, I've probably already asked this before but which version is this?
There was definitely a bug in the scanning that meant it could lock up if the last mux to be scanned failed to provide any data. This is fixed in git master, but not 3.0.
Look on the Web UI, Configuration(tab)->Adapters->Select adapter from drop down. There should be a status panel on the right hand side. If it says 0 muxes remaining then its complete and you can click the Map Services (forget the exact text) button on the left hand side.
That will populate your channel list.
