Avermedia PCI pure analog (M135A) cannot be selected in config/devices menu, thoug it appers recognized???

Added by Stoyan Deckoff almost 13 years ago

I run Ubuntu 11.10
Tvheadend 2.12 , installed form deb
Avermedia PCI pure analog (M135A) videocard.
I try to setup this PCI card as a backend for XBMC, but I cannot configure the card.
I open the config window in browser, correctly enter pass and username, and try to go Configuration>TV adapters
When I click the drop-down menu, it is empty, and no choices appear. First I thought the card is not working, but my dmesg says otherwise(or I think so)
Here is the output of dmesg:

Am I doing something wrong here. Can I add it manually, if so, how???

EDIT
I compiled from git, with the same result. This is the message that tvheadend gives at start (As I see it, it sees the correct TV card??, but I still cannot configure it in the web interface ))

You are doing everything correct, but because yourcard does not have a mpeg encoder it can not be used with tvheadend.

I got it, thank you. Sadly, using this card under Ubuntu seems to be quite difficult...
Thank you for your help :)
