Unable to map DVB services to channels
Added by Chris Statton almost 13 years ago
Hi all,
Currently trying to get tvheadend setup and working on my system. I am using the Sony PlayTV USB dual tuner.
Anyway, I'm having a little trouble and hoping someone here has got this successfully working. After "Add DVB Network by location", it finds the muxes no problems, but I don't get the option to "Map DVB services to channels". Not sure what's happening but the button to do it is greyed out.
Any help greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I should mention that 5 muxes appear under the multiplexes tab, but no services under the services tab.

I have the same problem... unable to map dvb services to channels, button is greyed out.
Hardware is a "Terratec Cinergy T stick RC", the TV adapter is shown as "Afatech AF9013 DVB-T".
Selecting the adapter works, so does "Add DVB Network by location".
The logfile says something like "Jan 24 17:14:36 dvb: "/dev/dvb/adapter0" tuning to "570,000 kHz" (Autoscan)".
The "Multiplexes" tab shows all found frequencies, all of them have 100% quality, but "Services" tab is empty.
Can you please assist?
THANX!

What network? are the multiplex (still) correct?
Please provide these kind of details so we can help identifying your problem.

OK, it works now.
After a restart it was rescanning and finally found a network, then it was possible to click the "map" button.

I have the same issue. I am located in Australia Byron Bay.
I've selected Gold Cost as location for DVB and found 8 mux. Scan completed but map dvd sevices to channel is still grayed out.

Any idea?

Hi Hein,
yes I tried restart, plus my version is 2.12 version from apt repository
But that option is still grayed out. Can I post here a log or do you have any other suggestion?
Cheers
RE: Unable to map DVB services to channels - Added by Hein Rigolo over 12 years ago
please upgrade to a more recent version that is compiled from git. In the 2.12 version was a bug around the initial scanning .. that is solved in the latest version from git.

Thx for your help.
I've removed previous version with apt-get remove hts-tvheadend
Then I got it from git and compiled all good.
However when I run it I get: (already create user, but it seems to be problem with permissions)
[ERROR]:HTTP: 192.168.1.100: /extjs.html -- 401
[ERROR]:HTTP: 192.168.1.100: /static/extjs/adapter/ext/ext-base.js -- 404
[ERROR]:HTTP: 192.168.1.100: /static/extjs/ext-all-debug.js -- 404
What webserver is tvheadend using, where can I set correct permissions?
Is this caused by removing previous installation?
Cheers

last week a patch was committed to git that requires you to do a "make install" to put the binary at the right location (/usr/local/bin) with all the correct references.
Did you do that?
Also, completely removing everything under the .hts directory might also help. (renaming it is enough .. and then you have a "backup")

RE: Unable to map DVB services to channels - Added by ondrej bed over 12 years ago
Thank you that fixed my problem with web browser.
I think that problem was somewhere else as I was trying to add Multiplexes with 0% signal.
Solution: was to select Add DVB Network by location->Generic->Australia (which has scanned 100 multiplexes) it takes a while but worked 100%
My problem was in selecting wrong multiplexes by location -> Gold Coast.
Thank you for you time.
Best regards

Hi!
I have the same problem not being able to map DVB Services to channels.
I followes your hint and downloaded the actual tvheadend from git repository, compiled it an nothin changed:
Hardware
Device path:
/dev/dvb/adapter0
Device name:
STV090x Multistandard
Host connection:
PCI
Intermediate Frequency range:
950000 kHz - 2150000 kHz, in steps of 0 kHz
Symbolrate range:
1000000 Baud - 45000000 Baud
Status
Currently tuned to:
ASTRA 1: 11,464,250 kHz Horizontal (Default (Port 0, Universal LNB))
Services:
1375
Muxes:
102
Muxes awaiting initial scan:
1
As you can see, there is one mux left for "awaiting initial scan". But this never ends. If I restart tvheadend it starts from beginning and scans 101 muxes but the one will be left at the end.
I use Astra 19.2°
While scanning there is an entry in the output of tvheadened
[NOTICE]:dvb: New mux "666,000,000 kHz Horizontal (No satconf)" created by automatic mux discovery
and after a while
[ERROR]:dvb: "/dev/dvb/adapter0" tuning to "666,000,000 kHz Horizontal (No satconf)" -- Front configuration failed -- Invalid argument, frequency: 655400000
Can you help me?
RE: Unable to map DVB services to channels - Added by ondrej bed over 12 years ago
Hi there I've found out that scanning 100 muxes is quite useless.
Much better is to run this command to find all necessary info for tvheadend and add mux manually.
sudo w_scan -f t -c AU -x
AU is Australia
@Hein => it would be quite good to mention this command in documentation as many users are quite lost in this step (finding mux)
RE: Unable to map DVB services to channels - Added by Lt. Cmdr. Data over 12 years ago
Hi,
I "solved" the Problem by deleting some muxes after discovery. Then the scanning of the Services runs fine.
(I deleted all the muxes which obviously were errors).

I experienced this problem recently. After restarting (the computer) and removing all check boxes from the over-the-air grabbers in the EPG Grabber tab, it worked. I wonder if having all of the over-the-air grabbers checked causes it to scan forever with these extra grabbers so the process doesn't complete?
