IPTV on v3.9 / Unstable

Added by Michael Østergaard over 10 years ago

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could write a guide on how to set up an IPTV channel in the unstable version of tvheadend?

It works fine for me if I use the beta release (v3.5), but the config has changed a lot in v3.9, and I just keep getting "timeout waiting for packets" or similar errors when trying to play the channel. The issue is the same whether I try from XBMC or the webgui.

Normally I wouldn't mind using the beta version, but the Plex plugin I want to use requires some of the new web functionality added in v3.9 to work.

I'm trying to get it to work on an ubuntu machine dedicated to running tvheadend. I've tried both the package version of the application and compiling the application, both with same errors.

Thanks.

Oh, that might explain things. I should be using the latest version (updated this evening), however.

WebUI says 3.9.560~gf5bbb4c~lucid.

Alright!

I just tested with the newest build (3.9.569~ge113c3b~lucid) and everything looks a lot better now!

The IPTV muxes now automatically show up as services, and I can create channels.

Also, the webplayer is working a treat!

Thanks a lot :)

I have version 3.9.570~g5fbe7a7~precise of TVHeadend, I am having problems adding IPTV streams.
An external http stream that plays in Vlc doesn't seem to be scanned by TVHeadend. I have tried creating an rtsp stream using vlc which i can view on other vlc players but TVheadend is still unable to detect the stream.

Attached is a screenshot of my config. The server has only one ethernet device (eth0).

How can I fix this.
