EPG shows wrong characters and time

Added by Raivo Kask almost 10 years ago

I have Tvheadend installed as backend and 4 Kodi frontends.
I change from stable -> unstable 3.9.2484 in the backend.
Now EPG doesn't show my swedish character and time is lagging 1 hour.
In tab EPG Grabber I have Over-the-air-grabbers 'EIT:DVB Grabber'
In tab General I have selected languages Swedish & English in that order.
When I ran stable version I didn't have this problem.
Appreciate any help ...

I am in Australia and I am also experiencing the same problem now that I have moved to unstable from the stable version.

My problem is that the guide is showing programs now that are actually going to be in 8 hours time. We are GMT + 8 here.

I have asked a similar question in another thread a month or so ago, and got no response.

At the moment I am guessing the only way to now schedule recordings is to uninstall and go back to the stable release.

The OP's problem was addressed over on the Kodi forum:

However, for completeness, there's a timezone and character set setting in Configuration -> DVB Inputs -> Networks. Select your network and click 'Edit'.

In 'Advanced Settings', you'll find an option to specify whether your EIT/EPG grabber is in UTC (default) or local time (which did explain the Swedish offset and may help in Oz as well as per the other thread) and an option to specify the character set of the EPG (which would bring in other ISO codepages for accented characters, such as ISO-8859-15).
