Kodi Beta 1 Tvheadend Add-on: Dependencies not met

Added by Mark Hunting about 10 years ago

In Kodi Beta 1 the Tvheadend HTSP Client can not be installed, it gives the message "Dependencies not met. Please contact Add-on author".

In the IRC logs I see this is a known problem for some time already, but from what I understand nobody is working on it. Will this be solved before the official release?

I've just searched the IRC logs, and can see two mentions of 'dependencies not met' between January and now, both specific to pvr.tvh and not pvr.hts.

Soooo... what platform are you running on, are you using pvr.hts (the default) or pvr.tvh, and how are you installing the addons? Something doesn't sound right...

Sorry, I am using Ubuntu 14.04. I don't know what plugin I am using, in the Add-ons section I use the search and it finds two identical tvheadend plugins: Tvheadent HTSP Client, Version 1.9.25, Author Lars op den Kamp. Both give exactly the same error when I click 'Install'.

It sounds like an API version issue - you're installing the wrong version of the right addon (that's pvr.hts), and it's not compatible with core Kodi. I'm guessing beyond that - maybe do some legwork on that version number, perhaps you're installing from the wrong repo, perhaps someone has forgotten to update a version number, perhaps you've got some old code that's refusing to get overwritten.

There's a thread on the Kodi forums here about pvr.tvh, which will ultimately replace the version you're trying - there may be something in here - or perhaps even try this addon instead:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=187521

Otherwise, this is an XBMC issue rather than tvh, so you're more likely to get some joy on that forum anyway.

Well I have it working now. I completely removed Kodi and especially xbmc-pvr-tvheadend-hts, then I reinstalled them again and it worked right away. Stupid I didn't try this before. After the update from XBMC 13 to Kodi 14 Beta 1 it wasn't working and it told me I had to install the plugin first, which gave me the version number problem. Thanks anyway!

That makes sense - you need 1.9.31 for Kodi:

https://launchpad.net/~wsnipex/+archive/ubuntu/xbmc-nightly/+build/6466852

... so you had the Gotham addon with the Helix code, and hence the API mismatch.

Well I use the repository so it is very strange I had to remove xbmc-pvr-tvheadend-hts first and then reinstall it.
By the way if I use the Add-on search in Kodi it still gives the wrong version 1.9.25 which fails to install. Obviously I don't need this anymore, but this is confusing.

Also a problem in the release version - RE: Kodi Beta 1 Tvheadend Add-on: Dependencies not met - Added by K Shea almost 10 years ago

I had this problem when the new Kodi release update was pushed out yesterday via Ubuntu's software updater. After it installed, I could not access any PVR functions at all. But then I went into Synaptic (I could have just as easily used apt-get install if I had known the package name) and installed kodi-pvr-tvheadend-hts and after that it worked great (well, other than that the skin I use was somewhat broken so I had to deal with that). Didn't need to uninstall anything first but maybe some might. The PVR backend addon for TVHeadEnd that was offered in Kodi's addon repository still does not work, have no idea why Kodi Helix is pulling Gotham versions of the PVR addons but oh well.
