TvHeadend does not show decode DVB-S2 streams using Terratec Cinergy S2 HD PCI card

Added by Johan de Kroon almost 12 years ago

I have a system using a server with the Terratec Cinergy S2 HD card. I have installed xbmcbuntu, tvheadend end oscam (latter two directly from the git resource). I use a smargo card reader with my canal digitaal card to decode. I am able to decode and view different channels but only the DVB-S channels and not the DVB-S2 channels. I have searched the internet for answers, have tried different solutions but have not found a solution for my problem. I relatively new to this, can anybody point me in the right direction where to find the answers.

Have you tried any other software to see if that works?

Maybe you could post a full debug log from tvh start so we can see what is going on. You can enable debug to syslog in /etc/default/tvheadend, then grep tvheadend out of /var/log/syslog.

It is using s2api, at least the information using dmesg gives this info. Maby the api does not support dvbs2 streams, although i see information about tuning to a dvbs2 stream? I tried to get the tvheadend logging but is does nog give me any more info. The Terratec S2 HD should be supported in the linux kernel by default. Is there a way to compile and use a kernel which uses the latest stb0899 drivers which I understand is used. I shall post the logging asap, do not have enough time at this moment.

I found within the tvheadend logging that the cinergy s2 HD is seen as type DVB-S instead of DVB-S2. I do not know if this is an issue. I have not much time unfortunately but when I have I keep on investigating. Well... still searching.
