XMLTV source supplying to 2 channels (same content)

Added by Andy Brown almost 13 years ago

Hi all,
Something a little odd going on here and after a bit of advice. I'm in the UK, so I receive HD and non-HD versions of channels, so what I do is grab the non-HD version via XMLTV (as this is more reliable via my freesat EIT download) and then in TVHeadend under CONFIGURATION>CHANNELS I set the HD channel to use the same XMLTV source.

I can then go to the EPG, and if I select the non-HD channel, see the full 7-days EPG as I'd expect.
If I select the HD channel (that is effectively a clone of the XMLTV information), I only see NOW and NEXT.

This is really puzzling me, and making me think its somehow NOT honouring the XMLTV source option I'm entering.

I've attached a couple of screen-shots to show what I've set and to show the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas?

TVHeadend Build: git-7910c50
XML-TV Source: EIT
Grab interval: 3hrs

tvheadend always tries to merge the EIT information with the XMLTV information. This merge does not always work well. If you do not want to use the EIT information but XMLTV only, you can disable the EIT information for a certain service on the service tab.

I hope that will solve your problem.

Thanks for the advice, I think this has made it worse though, so I probably am not understanding whats going on here.

I unticked the EIT from the 'ITV HD' entry in my two sat receivers setup, as I only want to use the data from the 'ITV1 TT N'. Upon doing this, I'm now not getting any EPG data populated.

So it seems that despite the setting for XMLTV source in the Channels list being set, its not honouring this.
Any ideas what I could try to fix this?
