xmltv problems

I am having a problem getting xmltv to work with tvheadend that I hope someone can help me with.
I am using tvheadend 3.9.2752 and xmltv 0.5.65 on a Linux Mint 17.1 box.
I have installed and configured xmltv with a data direct account, and I can manually generate a file from the command line. I go into tvheadend and set up as follows;
Configuration, Channel/EPG, EPG Grabber, uncheck all boxes, internal grabber set to
Cron multi-line:
  1. Default config (00:04 and 12:04 everyday)
    4 0 * * *
    4 12 * * *
    Module:
    XMLTV:North America (Data Direct)
    All this and tvheadend is not listing anything for EPG.
    Any Ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Did you configure xmltv as the user under which you run tvheadend? XMLTV's output needs to be where tvh will find it...
