Description

I've had an autorec running to record 'His Dark Materials' on Freesat BBC One HD. So far, of 6 episodes broadcast, 3 have failed to record. The web interface reports 'Removed recording, file missing'. I have other similar recording failures; they all appear to be on BBC channels. Recordings from non-BBC channels appear to be OK.

This evening I observed a failed recording in progress. Half way through transmission, the web GUI reported the recording in progress, but the status as 'Waiting for EPG running flag'. At that point I told Kodi to switch to the channel, and watched the rest as transmitted.

I'm running the current Debian package on x86. I didn't have any debug logging enabled. Syslog has:

I've been battling similar problems with EIT-based recordings on UK Freesat for a while. Unfortunately the issue is intermittent and the TVH code is highly opaque, so I haven't been able to make much progress. For the time being I've turned off EIT-based recording and rely on padding.

Do you also have a UK Freeview tuner connected?

Thanks for the news :-(

As it happens, I do have a UK Freeview tuner connected. Why?

Unfortunately I never managed to solve the problem, and the suggested fix at the end of that thread didn't work.

Thanks, that's an interesting data point. I pretty much never use the UK Freeview adapter, and all Freeview channels are mapped separately to the Freesat ones. I'll try disabling the Freeview adapter and see if that helps. But as you say, it's an intermittent problem; I've been scheduling a few recordings with logging turned up, and so far everything has worked 100%.

I ended up concluding that my problem wasn't to do with the Freeview adapter. I'd also run into EIT recording problems. Since I turned it off, everything has worked fine.
