Bug #5710
Access entry: channel tag filter
0%
Description
Hi all,
sorry to bother the group. I think I've found a bug. I'm trying to set up a new user with limited access to a restricted set of channel tag. If I don't check the tag I'd like to exclude I expect not to be able to access channel with this tag from client (Kodi). Instead I see the full set of channel tag....
Maybe that's a bug.
Thanks,
Regards,
MR

Have you checked if this is also the case in latest master? 4.2 gets very limited support and unless it's a huge issue it will most likely not be fixed.

Hi,
thanks for the reply. Very kind of you. I installed the latest available from APT repositories. It's a pity to see that maybe it won't be fixed.
Is there any other version I can download and try with or any workaround/suggestion?
Thanks in advance

You installed the old 4.2 version, you can try 4.3 which has many enhancements and bug fixes. Check out the Wiki for more details,if you choose "unstable" you get the latest releases (which is a must if this gets fixed anyways).

Hi,
that's the version I'm running on and looks like Channel tag filter feature doesn't work properly.
Bernhard Heyer: Which version are you running on?
Thanks

@Mario Rossi - You need to first check "Exlude channel tag" tick box and than select tags you do not want to see in Kodi. It also works properly with the opposite logic.

@Mario Rossi - Just thinking loud, maybe you have a "*" user where all channel tags are allowed and/or included. Delete that "*" user. Also try to tick the "Private" checkbox under the Channel Tags tab so that way Kodi should not list that tag for sure. If it does, there is something else that needs to be configured on your side.

Maybe TvH doesn't like the dot in your tag-name? Instead of DVB-T.HDTV, something like DVB-T_HDTV ?

Thanks all,
I've tried replacing dot with underscore but it still doesn't work.
Tags are already manually created.
I'm sure I'm missing something macroscopic....
Thanks

@Mario Rossi - I think from this point this is discussion for the forum and not bug report. Try to eliminate all possible causes that prevent proper channel tag filtering at your server. Have only one user (non-admin), have only two channel tags, name channels tags simply ABC (no spaces/dots/Underscores etc.), set channel tags as Private and restart tvh to make sure changes are applied

HI,
this is what I have done:
1) rename all channel tags as A,B,C,D,...
2) restart tevheadend
3) restart kodi
4) check
but... it doesn't work.
Thanks for support...
Cheers

@Mario Rossi - Make sure the Channel tags option is selected under Configuration-Users-Access Entries-Edit Access Entry-Change Parameters-Channel tags of the user you are testing

@Mario Rossi - You can see on your picture that under "Change parameters" you do not have "Channel tags" option enabled, therefore it is not working for you. As default all "Change parameters" options are enabled, so you had to by mistake disable all options except "Rights"

Hi Kodiaq,
Right!! now it works absolutely fine!!
Thank you very much for the support and my apologies for bothering...
